Werkkompass

Werkkompass is an interactive demo of Vibe Coding, Vibe Engineering and Agentic AI in software development, with traditional development without AI for comparison. It belongs to the Werk family next to Werkbaum, werkregie, werkrevisor and werkcrappit.

Views

The page has three views, linked by the grey arrow buttons next to the headings:

1. Agentic AI Software Development Profiles (#profile, #practices, #iterations, #coverage): development profiles with adjustable AI and human parameters, engineering practices, authorship, engineering coverage, and an iterative simulation in which the target shifts until it is reached.
2. Engineering Activities by Software Criticality (#engineering-activities): a staircase of the activities by criticality, how binding they are and who writes them.
3. My Agentic AI Workflow (#workflow): the personal workflow of Michael Hönnig, guided by Werkbaum, PSP and Lean-Path, with a compact and a structured path and info popups on RFC, CR, PR and guardrails.

The model values are illustrative assumptions, not empirical benchmarks.

Start Locally

index.html is self-contained; it loads nothing from other hosts.

Check

There is no automated check yet. Before a change is merged, check in a browser:

• the three views and their arrows, back and forward in the browser history, each hash route;
• the profile presets, the sliders and the tabs;
• the iterative simulation until "Target reached";
• the info popups of the workflow view: open, close with × and with Escape;
• a phone-sized viewport: no horizontal scrolling of the page;
• the links to copyright, imprint and privacy in each view.

Install

install-vibe-engineering-webapp uploads an HTML file as vibe-engineering.html into the web space of javagil.de, which serves it without the extension as https://javagil.de/vibe-engineering. Then it deletes the source file. So install a copy, never index.html of the checkout:
