Third-party code and attribution
Keluna's original code, examples, and documentation are licensed under Apache-2.0. This does not relicense dependencies, build tools (including the Gradle wrapper), or other third-party material. Preserve their existing notices and licenses.
Copying or porting code
Before incorporating implementation code, examples, tests, styles, or other assets:
- Check the license of the exact upstream version and file. A public repository, a documentation page, or a Vaadin brand name alone does not establish permission. Commercial Vaadin components are not covered by the open-source core's license.
- Confirm that the license permits the intended modification and redistribution within Keluna. Do not import material with missing or incompatible permissions.
- Record the upstream URL, commit or release, original file paths, license, destination files, and the changes made in this document. A Java-to-Kotlin port is an adaptation and requires the same provenance tracking.
- Preserve relevant upstream copyright, attribution, and license notices. Mark modified upstream files clearly as changed by Keluna contributors.
- Include required license texts and applicable upstream NOTICE attributions in distributions. Apache-2.0 is already included in LICENSE; add other required license texts under LICENSES/ when applicable. Add applicable Apache NOTICE attributions to the root NOTICE without changing the upstream license terms.
API inspiration alone is not a record of copied source. Add an entry when material is actually incorporated. This document is not an exhaustive dependency inventory; packaged dependencies and system libraries must also retain their required notices.
